David Patterson, PLA has over 30 years of planning, design, permitting and construction administration experience for the following land use types: residential, high density residential, higher educational facilities for various project types, k-12 schools, parks and recreation, retail, mixed-use, office and business parks, churches, streetscapes, and industrial / distribution developments.  I have also ran my own design / build company and ran landscape and irrigation installation crews for large multi-family developers throughout the southeast.  Standing on a shovel alongside of construction crews provides and insight to what works and what sometimes doesn't work with landscape design plans.

 

My experience includes managing projects and client relationships for clients in both the public and private market. Clients include; military, Center for Disease Control (CDC), Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), Board of Regents, K-12 administrations both public and private, including Atlanta Public Schools, hospitals and outpatient facilities, religious institutions, large architectural design houses and large corporate development organizations. I also have extensive relationships with arborists and plan review administrators throughout the Greater Metro Atlanta areas and throughout the Southeast.

 

I have provided professional services for detailed site planning, hardscape and landscape design and irrigation design from the conceptual design stage through the construction document phase and contract administration. I have worked with various municipal entities for permitting and zoning as well as many LEED projects. This design experience allows me to balance high quality design with functionality, creating a highly marketable product.

I am a transplant from Carmel Indiana and have worked in the Atlanta area for my entire professional career. I have a great love of the outdoors and the beauty of our natural enviornment. I have been blessed to live in Georgia and experience all of the natural beauty this state has to offer.  I believe my appreciation for nature has led me to my career so that I can protect, preserve and enhance the natural enviornment.

When I'm not huggng trees, I live to experience the special moments with my family.  I enjoy the beach, boating, fishing and especially my time on the golf course. I love my Sunday, church day, when I get to spend special time with the most important people in my life. During this time I truly have a sense of the beauty that life has to offer.
